Great smoked meats! Had the chopped brisket sandwich + baby back ribs today and had the smoked turkey, pulled pork, and sausage on their preview day. All of them were fantastic so it's hard to recommend one over the other but the smoked turkey with the white sauce was awesome.
This is the best BBQ in the area. Nothing needs any sauce. The meat stands on its own. You enter to a wonderful smell. They cut up the meats right in front of you. The lean brisket is truly wonderful. It falls apart in your mouth. The sausage is also fantastic. They have great cornbread too. A little expensive, but moist and flavorful.
I had been to the butcher shop that the same owners have next door and loved it, so i decided to give this place a try on opening day. It absolutely exceeded my expectations. The meat was amazing. The sauces and lemonade are made in house as well, and i couldn’t get enough. I definitely will be back to try some more! the staff was also super friendly and i recognized some of the faces from next door. they remembered me too! i might make the 30min drive all the way back out there today just for some mac and cheese because it was that good!
It’s about daaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaamn time the village butcher (awesome butcher/sandwhich shop next door) opened up this bbq spot. I’ve only had the brisket and that’ll probably be the only meat I try from here, pause. The brisket was amazing. Just look at the pictures. Hands down, the best BBQ around. The brisket is as good as or better than any from Texas Hill Country. The smoked turkey and pulled pork are incredible, and the poblano pepper jack sausage is a must. If you use sauce on your BBQ, they have a great selection to choose from. 10/10, highly recommended.
I don't hand out five-star reviews often but this place was so good I couldn't find a reason to deduct a star. For the past couple of years, I've been on the search for the best BBQ in the Cleveland area. See my other reviews for my thoughts on Mabels, Smokin' BBQ, Woodstock, Landmark, and some others. My search might be over. To date, Smokehouse 91 is the absolute best BBQ in Cleveland, but it's not perfect. It's located in a small strip mall on Route 91. The parking lot was full and very difficult to find a spot. In fact, my wife almost got hit by an Amazon driver pulling in and another driver backing out--so be careful! Outside of that...Smokehouse 91 knocks it out of the park. The service is great and set-up the way a BBQ joint should be. Pick your meats...add your sides...hit the sauce station...and then eat. As always, I try to sample as many meats as I can during my BBQ visits, and today my party had a turkey sandwich, baby back ribs, smoked turkey, sliced brisket (fatty), a smoked poblano pepper sausage, and the star of the show--a beef short rib. Our sides included macaroni and cheese and the collard greens. You also get a small sampling of cole slaw pickles, and white bread with your meats. I'll start with the sides, because as I've said in my other BBQ reviews, if the restaurant puts the time in to make quality sides, then their meat is usually fantastic. My daughter and I both gave the mac-and-cheese five stars out of five. "It was so creamy, powerful, and it had the right texture," according to my daughter. I'm a huge fan of collard greens but every BBQ restaurant in Cleveland has let me down. Smokehouse 91 came up with an excellent collard green, filled with meat and just the right spicing. Five stars. The cole slaw gets four stars. It hits the right texture--I like mine a bit runny--but was a bit off on the flavor. This place was highly recommended for their food and after we ate there tonight, we can see why. We tried several items like the pulled pork, the chili brisket, the succotash, the greens, and the ribs! We also got the cornbread, coleslaw, and pickles. All delicious and very filling. Price was reasonable. We have leftovers for another meal. It's not big inside but the service was great. Would also recommend this place to others!
I've been coming to Smokehouse 91 for a little over a year now, and it has become my favorite barbecue restaurant. Every visit has been consistently excellent. The smoked meats are outstanding. The brisket is some of the best I've ever had, and the smoked turkey is unbelievably juicy and full of flavor. Whether it's the brisket, turkey, pulled pork, ribs, or sausage, everything is cooked perfectly with incredible tenderness and that authentic wood-smoked taste. The sides are every bit as impressive. The mac and cheese is outstanding, the seasonal potatoes are always delicious, and I never leave without getting the brisket chili and baked beans. Their house-made sauces complement the meats perfectly without overpowering them—they simply enhance everything that's already great. What really keeps me coming back, though, is the people. The staff is always welcoming, friendly, and genuinely appreciates their customers. They make every visit enjoyable and treat everyone like family. Finding a restaurant that delivers exceptional food and outstanding service every single time is rare, but Smokehouse 91 does exactly that. After more than a year of eating here regularly, I can honestly say it's one of my favorite places to eat. If you're looking for authentic barbecue in Northeast Ohio, you won't find a better place. Great BBQ in Mayfield who new .my buddy got the ribs I got half pound briscuit and a couple links of their home made plablano and pepper jack pork sausage omg the sausage was so on point .the 18 hour brisket was delicious Great smoke ring good snap back with several sauces to choose from also had their baked beans which were tender and tangy just like you want . Their cole slaw is home made as well and under reviewed it is very delicious. And the corn bread is more like desert reminded me of corn fritters just less crunchy on the outside.and the sweet tea is just like I like not too sweet it was perfect . My buddy had the banana pudding he said it was good but more northern style banana pudding .over all the place is a hidden gem hard to see in a lil strip mall next to heinens .if I was to suggest improvements it would be invest in some flat cafeteria style trays to carry food from counter to table . Seems like they do alot of to go and catering platters as well mostly .
